Write A Better 2014, Receive A Great 2015

I would like to share about the goodness of God, and His grace upon my life. Looking back at 2014, God has been extremely good and faithful and I know 2015 will be greater.

2014 was a tough year for me. There were many changes and transitions that I had to face. These were namely, transition in my life coming out from serving mandatory National Service, moving on from a relationship, and the need for finances as I live alone in Singapore.

Despite these challenges, I recognise how God speaks to us in a still small voice. Its amazing how choosing His way always leads us higher. In the beginning of 2014, I felt the Lord guide me to do a fast and I took that step of faith and obeyed and did my first ever full fast for seven days and completely trusted God for a breakthrough in my spiritual life and for getting a job and establishing a career.

During the seven days of fasting, God placed a phrase in my life, “Write a better 2014” and the scripture reference He gave me was, Revelation 21:5 which says,

“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”.” (NKJV)

By the grace of God, doors started to open to me. As a musician, my desire has always been to be able to perform on stage. Any kind of stage. God started to bless me with so many opportunities to meet many prominent people in the local music scene as well as from the church circles.

2014 is the same year I met Pastor Sherman Ng and Joshua Goh from Global Harvest (www.facebook.com/globalharvestnetwork).  There were many open doors that were presented through their ministry. Firstly, I was privileged to play on the recording of their worship album. God also allowed me to serve with them, being involved in worship session for internationally known speakers like Robert Kayanja, Todd White, Mark Sandford and recently James Goll. I also got to play with them on a worship set at the Sky Park on top of the Marina Bay Sands! Back home in my home church, a song that I composed is currently in the midst of being produced for the children’s church worship album.

Before I completed my National Service, I was worried about whether will I be able to find a job, worried about making rent, bills, and the necessities of life. However, our Heavenly Father is always so good. He always gives ear to our prayers. Immediately after I completed National Service, our Heavenly Father provided a well-paying job in one of the top insurance companies. That was in September 2014. In addition, He also opened doors for me to play in various gigs and performances. The highlight of which was to be able to perform with Singapore Idol Finalist, Maia Lee. Further, through the grace of God, she subsequently appointed me to be her main guitarist for all her gigs and performances. It was a joy and delight for me.

With Maia Lee

God is faithful. As we minister to Him and His people, he never forgets to surprise us. I know this is just the beginning and 2015 will see the greater.

I would like to sincerely thank Pastor Sherman for being such a great blessing in my life and always being there when I needed someone to talk to or even just share things with.

Above all,  I thank Jesus. All these will not be possible if it’s not because of His grace and mercy. All Glory to God.
